Here are some fun winter-themed games you can use to teach English to kids in an ESL setting:

1. Snowball Fight with Words
Materials: Crumpled paper or white balls (representing snowballs) with words or pictures on them.
How to Play: Divide the class into two teams. One team "throws" snowballs (papers or soft balls) at the other team. When a snowball is caught, the kids can read or say the word or picture on it.

2. Winter Vocabulary Bingo
Materials: Bingo cards with winter-themed words (snowman, snowflake, hot chocolate, etc.), and calling cards.
How to Play: Create bingo cards with winter-related vocabulary words. Call out the words or show pictures, and have the kids mark the corresponding word on their card. The first child to get a complete row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) calls out "Bingo!" and wins.
3. Winter Pictionary
Materials: Paper, markers, and a timer.
How to Play: Write down winter-related words (ice skating, snowstorm, ski, etc.). Students take turns drawing the word on the board while the others try to guess. This can also be played in teams.
5. Winter Word Search
Materials: Word search puzzles with winter-related vocabulary.
How to Play: Give students a word search puzzle with words like "snow," "ice," "mittens," "sled," etc. Students work to find the words in the puzzle. For an added challenge, have them use the words in sentences after finding them.
6. Hot Chocolate Races
Materials: Plastic cups, spoons, and simple winter-related vocabulary cards.
How to Play: Set up a race. Each kid run to the front and "serve" their cup of hot chocolate with the small images representing the winter vocabulary. Then we can get the images with the spoon and count how many each of them cought.
7. Winter Charades
Materials: List of winter-related actions (sledding, building a snowman, etc.).
How to Play: Write actions on pieces of paper. A student picks one and acts it out without speaking while others guess. This helps with vocabulary related to actions and winter activities.
8. Freeze winter-based vocabulary game
Materials: Our perfect mood and creativity :)
How to Play: While the music is playi,in children can dance, when the music stops they should freeze showing some winter figure: snow ball, snowman, snowflake, etc.Teacher should guess :)

9. Winter "I Spy"
Materials: Classroom decorations or winter-themed pictures.
How to Play: "I spy with my little eye something that is [color/shape/size]." Kids take turns guessing objects in the classroom or on a picture that fits the description. This helps build descriptive language skills.
10. Snowy Word Ladder
Materials: Large sheets of paper, markers.
How to Play: Write a simple word at the bottom (e.g., "snow"). Kids must change one letter at a time to create new words (e.g., "slow," "show," "sore"). Each new word must be a valid word related to winter. This is great for practicing spelling and word families.
